I have sores on my head that look like pimples with white heads. They hurt. I use a special shampoo but it doesn't help much. I also have areas on my skin (arms and legs) that have patches that look like scales. I use cortisone creams to try and keep it from itching. Does anyone else have this?

It can be discoid lesions from Lupus or psoriasis or both.

I have had both at the same time.

It can also be cutaneous lupus.

If my experience is any indication your rheumatologist and dermatologist will argue over what it is and likely take a few visits to nail it down.

If it responds well to shampoo or lotion it isn't the Lupus.

If it doesn't respond to topical at all, it is more likely one of Lupus's inflammation responses

I have sores on the back of my head and upper neck. I am discussing them now with my Dr. They seem to appear during flares and are most prevalent when I am using a biologic. I have recently went off of Actemra and have not had the sores for 5 weeks or so.

Please see a dermatologist if you haven't yet. They may need to biopsy the lesions to diagnose the problem.

Actually I did see a dermatologist. He took a biopsy but it came back inconclusive. He gave me strong cortisol cream and lotion which help. It is just painful and pretty itchy.

I have sores like that all over my head. I am currently fixing to visit a dermatologist, not sure why I haven't yet, as this has been an issue for years. I get them all over and it takes them a long time to heal. I can scratch a spot on my skin not knowing anything is there and open one. I have many scars over my body.
