Members weighed in on whether meat could be triggering lupus flares, with a wide range of personal experiences shared across the community. Several members reported that red meat caused joint pain, inflammation, brain fog, stomach issues, and general discomfort, while others found that increasing meat intake actually improved their symptoms, highlighting how individual responses can vary greatly. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body, avoiding personal trigger foods, and keeping a food journal to track what helps or hurts.

Each person is different, if you have any negative reactions in your body stay away from that food.

I don't eat meat. Thyroid issues. I get heartburn of my throat. I eat chicken 🍗, turkey, fish, fruits and veggies. I do eat sweets sometimes. I love my chocolate esp. Dark chocolate. I limit myself to what I eat.
I juice from time to time.

Some experts believe that inflammatory foods like meat can aggravate lupus. I don't eat it at all.

I've actually increased my meat intake in the last two years, and my symptoms have overall improved, and I've lost a notable amount of weight. Processed grains and sugar are more of an issue for me.
