I have always had normal blood pressure. Doctor said it was somewhat high but not bad.
Within the last week, I have had high blood pressure. It's been an average of 148/102.
Last night 152/106

With cardiovascular problems and clots, is Lupus causing high blood pressure?

@A MyLupusTeam Member yes it can cause high blood pressure. My doctor prescribes lisinapril 2.5mg to protect my heart and kidneys. Keep a watch on your blood pressure. Lower your salt (sodium intake), plenty of water and exercise. Everyone is different. Hope this helps. Hope you have a blessed day!

That is a very stressful situation to be in Lisa.
And damn well scary.
I had a similar situation 8 years ago. I’m from Australia so different health system here. Never the less they wouldn’t give me disability until 4 years later. Wasn’t sick enough.
I had worked for 40 years by this stage and never taken benefits until then.
It was only when I nearly died from my heart being attacked and having to have open heart surgery that they passed it.
I am alone. Luckily at the time I had a small super account that was enough to keep me with very diligent budgeting until they finally gave in. Super had all run out by then.
So I can imagine how you and your husband would be beside yourselves.
I don’t really know what to say other than the usual stick together have faith and hope all will sort out.
Sending vibes for something to turn up.💜

My bloodwork showed very low sodium and the doctor said to reduce my intake of water and increase my salt intake. I had to see him a month later and sodium was in the acceptable range. I have been on hydroxychloraquine well over a year, but I had not made the connection. I learn new information every time I log on to this site.❤️🥰🙏🦋

@A MyLupusTeam Member and after taking the hydroxychloroquine for a month and stopping, i think it might have caused low blood sodium which almost killed me and put me in the hospital and I was told to cut back on water (to 4 cups/day 😳)and add more salt! I have to drink more water. I'm not able to get blood drawn anymore 😳😳

I have not been able to get my hydroxychloroquine. At a discount it's still about $60 or so.
With my husband bringing in less than $1000/mo SS. I can't afford it. Waiting on disability, Tenncare, and Food Stamps. We have it really bad right now.
He can't work part-time anymore because of his heart and severe hernia.
I can't work any either.
😪😒😔
