Valacyclovir works very well and is most effective if started immediately. Please contact your doctor or go to urgent care to get an rx. It's horribly painful, but nipping it early helps it to resolve much faster. I've also had shingles due to immunosuppressive meds.

Good luck, Denise.

@A MyLupusTeam Member, you may want to talk with your doctor about taking a suppressive dose of valtrex when you are started on immunosuppressant drugs to avert recurrent shingles. Some of us who are chronically immunosuppressed require this.

I got it on my scalp, on my trunk but strangest place I had the rash was on my bum 🫢 I found the scalp and bum to be the worst. I hope you feel better very soon 🤗

I got shingles after the covid vaccination and it appears this is common unwanted side effect. Cream suggested is good at early stage. It’s very painful so I feel for all who suffer but it will clear
