@A MyLupusTeam Member, this could be myocarditis, or autoimmune inflammation of the heart muscle. I agree with @A MyLupusTeam Member that it's important to have a cardiology evaluation, including an Echocardiogram.
Yes I have and I've also gotten it checked out...with no answers but they give me pain pills and a pat on the back ,sending me home again. I get so frustrated with the medical world! I've gotten a lot more answers from natural doctors.
You need to get to the ER immediately! You could be having a heart attack... Not meaning to scare you, but it's possible.
@A MyLupusTeam Member and @A MyLupusTeam Member, Reba, please check out my message from earlier today.
I can relate to the frustration with the medical system even though I'm a part of it. Sadly, Lupus is poorly understood and is still a mystery in many ways, and our doctors are doing the best they can. Natural methods are critical for us, including stress reduction, a healthy diet (more plants and less junk), gentle exercise, UV protection, etc.
However, it's wise to get checked out for more serious symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, etc., as you're doing! Hang in there!
@A MyLupusTeam Member, I also suggest you consult with your rheumatologist, as they are often more familiar with cardiac complications of lupus than cardiologists! It would also help the two of them to discuss your case because myocarditis in healthy people looks different from lupus patients. In us, it can be much more subtle and gradually chip away at our heart muscle, whereas in healthy people, it more often happens quickly and with more dramatic symptoms.
