can anyone tell me if they get cramping in your calves and black and blue ankles to your toes and if you have a ripping pain feeling in your ankle into your heal with lupus my fiance is still in between diagnosis one doctor claims lupus another claims not lupus fibromyalalgia but everything I'm reading it's definitely lupus he has I'm looking into finding a diffrent ra around the buffalo ny area for another opinion any advice would be much appreciated
Absolutely. I use Magnesium spray every night (or day depending on the cramping). I was on Gabapentin for a few years to help with that and the nerve damage from Lupus, but it made me feel emotionally, very irritable, so I looked for other alternatives. My doctor recommended Cymbalta, but in doing research, I see it’s fairly common for Lupies to suffer with vitamin deficiency’s such as zinc and magnesium. My body is not great with vitamins you buy, so I started reading a book on clean eating and what types of foods encourage better vitamin absorption, which has been life savings- literally. (Went from being so sick and bedridden to losing my home). Additionally, as to whether you have Lupus or Fibromyalgia- they have many overlapping symptoms. The difference is in the blood work typically. It never hurts to get at least another Rheumatologists opinion on your blood markers. I feel like regardless- most of us didn’t care what diagnosis we got-we all just want to feel seen and heard and find relief!! Many, many of us have been minimized and made to feel like we were just crazy hypochondriacs until we got our diagnosis, which just generally proved to ourselves that we truly are sick. I wish you the best in your medical journey! I see you… your feelings and suffering are valid. 💕
