I Was first diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue disease. Five years later I was diagnosed with Lupus. I perceive MCTD as being an umbrella with MS, Lupus, Sjogrens and other autoimmune diseases under this umbrella.

I was diagnosed first with Lupus then MCTD by the same group . I left the group. On my 3rd rheumatologist, she is testing me for Sjogrens , she says something is definitely going on because it has attacked a lot of my organs and systems so far . 30 years ago , I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis which I just found out was autoimmune. They do say that they do come in pairs and if it starts off with MCTD it will end up Lupus.
