My colon is only working at 9% and I have to depend on large amounts of laxatives to be able to go. And yes I drink lots of water and eat a lot of vegetables other healthy food. Please share any tips or advice!

I’ve had this problem my entire life. I have tried everything literally. Miralax is working the best for me. I take it everyday and it’s working.
I’ve tried the following;
Every Laxitive on the market
Stool softners
Herbs
Ibs medications
Fruit
Psyllium
Enemas
Juicing
Herbal teas like smooth move
And calm the magnesium powder in water or juice

Diagnosed w/SLE appx 45 years-

Fifteen yrs ago, I had to address my new constipation, sleeping, and anxiety issues. After reading several medical articles on Magnesium, I decided I would try taking 1 Magnesium Citrate gel cap per day, at bedtime (citrus makes it easier for the body to absorb magnesium). Note… the MC helped considerably.

Recently however (abt 1 yr ago), after reading several newer
medical publications on Magnesium, I switched to Magnesium Glycinate capsules
which works even better (at least for me). In fact, the MG has worked so well that I had to cut my dosing to every-other-night as I was going to the bathroom too often during the day!
Incidentally, sleep seems more restful, or rejuvenating, if you will.

Besides the healthy diet, and plenty of water, walking, 1C coffee, fiber (psyllium, acacia), magnesium. I use magnesium glycinate but if bowels get slow I use magnesium citrate.
