I hope you fell better. I had a total knew replacement and have done great. I just got over a battle of 2 years on antibiotics for strep. Today I’ve been off antibiotics for 4 months thank God

I’m going through this right now. My right hip has given me trouble for 25 years. My doctor looks for AVN. He has also diagnosed me with bursitis. It’s hard for me to go from sitting to standing as well as just standing up and putting pressure on my hip.
I’m in so much pain as well.

What kind of hip pain are you experiencing? Hip pain in lupus can occur for several reasons. The hip bones are part of your pelvis, and lupus can affect these major bones - including the hip bone, sacrum, and coccyx.

One common cause of hip pain in lupus patients is related to corticosteroid treatment. When taking corticosteroids for extended periods, you may develop early osteoporosis which often causes hip joint pain. Another potential cause of hip pain in lupus patients is avascular osteonecrosis - where bone damage occurs due to reduced blood flow to the area. If your hip pain feels similar to joint or muscle discomfort you've experienced in other parts of your body and persists, it's important to discuss this with your rheumatologist. They can evaluate your symptoms and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

I have had hip pain for almost 5 years now. It is worse at night and has woken me up several times so I take 1000mg of motrin before bed with 500mg of Tylenol. I also use biofreeze. I know that it cause osteoporosis and weaker bones because our body doesn't absorb much nutrients from the food we eat if you can even eat. So I am so scared of having a hip replacement since I had to help a friend who got one. That I take a multivitamin/multimineral everyday with osteobiflex with turmeric for inflammation it helps with the joint pain.
