I got an X-ray done of the neck and chest everything looked fine, no strep throat or anything, was prescribed methyl prednisone as the doctor felt the lymph nodes were swollen, but it didn’t work. My voice gets very raspy as if I’m losing it, very hard to speak without pain.

Yes, swollen lymph nodes are common with lupus, particularly during flares. Christine, this sounds suspicious for a possible viral infection, as you're experiencing pain. We can get lymph node and vocal cord swelling from lupus, but it tends to be painless. It may be worthwhile asking your doctor to check your WBC and differential to see if they indicate an infection. The shortness of breath can go with a lupus flare. I'm glad you're seeing your rheumatologist.
Thank you so much!
