I'm not allowed to get bladder botox, because I have urinary retention. The paralyzation of my bladder can cause me to need a catheter for six weeks. I really would like to not have to go to the restroom so much.
I’m waiting for an appointment with Urogynecology. No openings until 2026
Wow thanks! I’ll check into that
Are you able to get a referral to urology instead. I had to go through urogynecologist to get to urologist. Urologist is the one who does bladder treatment and exams.
This is a challenging situation that requires careful medical guidance. While the search results don't directly address overactive bladder with urinary retention in lupus patients, it's important to work closely with your rheumatologist and urologist to find a treatment approach that addresses both conditions safely.

Wow, thank you for letting me knowing. I have a urologist appt this week and I will ask her about bladder spasms. This sure is a difficult condition to live with. It gives me a lot of stress. Especially where I live in san diego, there are a lot of homeless, not that. I look down on them. I mean, I always imagine that it could always be me, especially with all my health issues and stuff. But the thing about living in a place where there are a lot of homeless is that it makes it difficult to use the restroom when you're out and about. It's like I always need to be in a business buying something in order to use the restroom.
