This is a serious symptom that requires immediate medical attention. While it's understandable that you don't want to worry your mom, it's important to tell her and seek medical care right away. Coughing up or spitting blood, especially with clots, could be related to lupus complications and needs to be evaluated by a healthcare provider.

Please don't delay seeking help - tell your mom or another trusted adult immediately. If you're experiencing dizziness or difficulty breathing along with the bleeding, you should go to the emergency room. Many MyLupusTeam members understand feeling anxious about medical symptoms and not wanting to worry family members. However, your health and safety come first. Having someone accompany you to medical appointments can provide emotional support and help you remember important information from your healthcare provider.
