Haha yes total pain in the butt!! my gastro switched me from miralax to senna liquid I recommend chocolate flavor. Little goes a long way with this👍🏽
Yes, I have major issues with my digestive system and constipation. I have tried Miralax, Colace and Linzess without improvement. In fact, in the case of added fiber, I believe it was worse. This has been an ongoing (miserable) issue for more than 20 years. I had surgery to remove 1/4 of my large intestine in 1998. The intestine had been twisting causing a blockage and much pain. Unfortunately, when I had the (many) tests, my intestines were empty and doctors could not figure out what caused the pain. They diagnosed me with GERD. Finally, the pain became unbearable when the intestine did not untwist itself. Emergency surgery was performed which is when they saw the damage to my intestines. They removed the damage intestine. I was o.k. for about a year. I had multiple laparoscopic surgeries to remove adhesions. I continued to have ongoing issues. A little over a year ago, we tried another surgery, A modified gastric bypass. The stomach was reduced (to reduce the gastric juices in the esophogus). My esophagus has limited motility which extends through my digestive system. There had been some evidence of some success for persons with sclerosis in the digestive track. Long story short, I finally re covered from the surgery. Unfortunately, I am still plagued with the same (or worse) issues. I believe the problems are caused by inflammation in the digestive tract. The only thing that helps is prednisone. I currently take a tapering dose of prednisone every other week. On the week that I am not taking prednisone, I have to take enemas to have a bowel movement. My Rheumatologist will not give me prednisone (even though it is the only thing that works!), so I had to order it from India. I decided to self prescribe because I am too old (68 years old) to continue having theses ongoing issues without relief. It is more expensive than if I had a prescription, but it is what it is... I am sorry you are suffering and pray you will figure out what works for you. Sending hugs.....
I have major problems with constipation! I have to take 3 capfulls of miralax every night so I can have a bowel movement in the am. I hope my new Gastrologist has something new that will work better than the miralax. It's literally a pain in the butt!...lol
