Yes it reflects recovery time. Your immune system fights itself so it isn't fighting anything that will destroy you. Meds further cut immune system off. It's important to take all medication before during and after surgery. And because of any kidney involvement which I do have it's important to follow up with nephrologist as well as other doctors and notice any pain near kidneys as well as your throat or lack of and any changes in your pee. As far as flares go...everything can cause a flare stress itself does. And surgery is stress. I had surgery my self inybneck it was an emergency I had deformities in my bones I didn't know about and past Drs didn't really look into that a whole long story of my life. Anyhow easily could e broke my neck or have whiplash and die...well broken neck yes whiplash no but with my neck yes that or paralysis. They needed to stabilize my neck and it was also riddle with arthritis. How did it go...pain is worse in neck. It failed. Physical therapy made it worse it worse or rather showed there was a really bad problem no got disenchanted and became very sick so didn't go to Drs and now live in another state waiting on Medicare to kick in. So no meds now still and no Drs. I'm glad u are here and I have Drs. Ild advice u keep Prednisone on hand for break thru flare ups and watch symptoms closely any thing odd don't be afraid to ask Drs no question is stupid

Thank you so much for sharing because that was reason I had to get the surgery so I wouldn’t be paralyzed but thank God it was successful and just being uncomfortable with this neck brace and positioning myself in bed
