For gum sensitivity and oral care with lupus, here are key recommendations:
• Use medicated mouthwashes that reduce bacteria and inflammation
• Choose alcohol-free options to avoid irritation
• Look for products specifically designed for dry mouth if you experience this symptom
• Consider asking your dentist about prescription "magic mouthwash" if over-the-counter options aren't helping Important oral care tips to complement your mouthwash routine:
• Use a soft-bristle toothbrush
• Choose non-abrasive toothpaste with fluoride
• Maintain regular dental visits
• Consider artificial saliva products if experiencing dry mouth
• Avoid acidic or spicy foods that might irritate sensitive gums

Remember to discuss any new oral care products with your healthcare provider, as they can help tailor recommendations to your specific needs.

I am allergic to alcohol. So I use 50/50 water and H202. I have dry mouth syndrome caused by the medications I take for Lupus. So, I take Fennel seed, slippy elm and a floride rinsh. I kept getting sores in my mouth too and rest was helping but I also had to get a humidfier. I flosh a lot and use the fennel seed. The fennel really helps breath. Constipating so use ginger with it :) hugs

Babygirl 08 I've also have sensitive gums. My dentist recommended I use Biotene Toothpaste for brushing and Biotene Moisturizing Spray for Sjogrens (dry mouth syndrome). Biotene products have been a very effective solution to keeping my mouthful very healthy. Having Lupus cause tooth decay, sensitive gums and teeth, and sores in the mouthful, etc. It's so important to keep the mouthful healthy because it can lead to other major causes to poor health. I wish you well with all you're having to endure. Stay strong and positive. Take good care of yourself and be blessed. 🙏🏽
