Many community members confirmed they have noticed reduced or absent hair growth on their arms, legs, and underarms, with most attributing it to lupus itself, long-term prednisone use, or a combination of both. Several members shared a silver lining, noting they rarely need to shave anymore, though chin hair and thinning scalp hair were common frustrations, with some finding help through castor oil, lavender oil in shampoo, or dermatologist scalp injections. A recurring theme was finding humor and small blessings within the challenges of lupus, while acknowledging that hair changes are just one of many mysterious ways the disease affects the body.

I have found that I don’t need to shave anymore (legs and underarms), but my arms seem to have about half of the hair I used to have. The hair on my head has thinned drastically, as well as gone quite straight! It was always wavy.

I lost half the hair on my head before I became diagnosed, and then I bought lavender oil. I put a drop in my hand and mix it with my shampoo, and then massage it in my hair and scalp. This strengthens the hair u have, and helps grow ur hair back...gradually. it took me about 2 years to get the full head of hair back. Please consider trying it😊

I keep getting eye lashes in my eyes, it makes my eyes burn. I don't have any hair growing under my arms now, which is a blessing because now I don't have to shave under my arms. It has always been hard to shave under my right arm because I have a scare under my right arm. I have very little hair on my legs.

My hair on my under arms doesn't grow, and my hair on my head has gotten thinner.

Yes, My hair has gotten thin. I think it's from medication and from the Lupus itself.
