This happens every now and again where either the ends of my fingernails or toenails just itch like crazy. Last night it was my second toe on my right foot. It is always around the top of the nail. No injury, no redness, no cuts, scrapes or tears in the skin. Just invisible itching. Just wondering if anyone else experiences this?

Members responded with relief and humor to the question about mysterious toe and fingertip itching, with many sharing that they experience the same maddening sensation, sometimes described as invisible bug bites or crawling feelings, especially at night. Several members connected the itching to conditions like neuropathy, Raynaud's, lupus, Sjogren's, and fibromyalgia, noting that figuring out which condition is the culprit can be exhausting. Practical tips shared included over-the-counter antihistamines, prescription creams, frequent lotion use, and homemade beef tallow lotion for those wanting to control ingredients.

I buy organic beef tallow in bulk and make my own lotion so I know what’s in it

@A MyLupusTeam Member...
seriously like what the heck is this all about? It is awful. So hard to ignore. I find my nervous system is so over stimulated lately that the phantom itches are my body's warning lights coming on. I thnk I am gonna try an allergy pill next time it revs up and see if it has any effect. Itbhelos when my hair hurts so ya never kno. But there has been literature that supports the use of antihistimines.🤔🤷‍♀️

Yess!! It's refreshing to know I'm not alone lol. Neuropathy always lives in my feet, it never stops but I'm used to it fairly well but recently my toeeeeeesss!! Have been driving me slightly nuts with itching or it feels like a little army ants have come to bully me and just bites me! Even in my sleep last night it actually hurts and startled me a bit out of my snoozes I had to wiggle my toes for a while before it calmed down but, goodness gracious this is not funny 🤣 but I can't help but laugh at how frazzling it makes me.

I have alot of neuropathy pains and burning 🔥 😫 in my feet. My neurologist recommended red light therapy. Waiting on the VA is like Waiting on paint to dry.

@A MyLupusTeam Member...I usually do an otc allergy pill and I do lotion and massage to calm things down. I think our systems are just so used to fight or flight, eventually it is overloaded and it is our body's way of coping.
