Just an FYI, my rheumatologist, nephrologist and my primary care fall encourage me to get a yearly flu shot so should I get the flu it would be more of a mild case and not upset my Lupus.
The shot is pretty much painless, just a quick prick. In fact, I am getting my flu shot today.

Take care and follow the advice of YOUR doctor.

Getting vaccinations when you have lupus requires careful consideration with your healthcare provider. The decision depends on several factors, including:

• Whether your lupus is currently stable
• What medications you're currently taking
• Your overall immune system status

Your doctor may want to check your immunity levels through blood tests before making a recommendation about any vaccines. While feeling anxious about getting vaccinated is understandable, working with your healthcare team to make an informed decision is important. They can:

• Review your current medications and lupus status
• Determine the best timing for vaccination
• Help weigh the benefits and risks for your specific situation
• Recommend appropriate precautions

Remember that each person's situation is unique, so what works for one person with lupus may not be right for another. The key is making this decision with your healthcare provider who knows your complete medical history.
