@TeresaAimer2--Please see your doctor to have your itching evaluated, Teresa. There are many possible causes, including allergic reactions, lupus, and metabolic problems.

I agree with AI--folic acid (a vitamin) shouldn't cause itching, but MTX can. I hope you get relief soon and check in with your doctor!

Does folic acid taken with methotrexate cause itching?
Folic acid itself typically doesn't cause itching. In fact, it's commonly recommended alongside methotrexate to help prevent certain side effects. However, methotrexate alone can cause skin problems, including itching and rashes.
Methotrexate side effects that might explain your symptoms include:
* Skin problems like rashes and itching
* Sensitivity to sunlight
* General skin irritation
Itching all over your scalp, eyes, ears, and skin could be a reaction to methotrexate rather than the folic acid supplement. It's also possible you're experiencing an allergic reaction or another issue unrelated to your medications.
Since you're experiencing widespread itching, it's important to contact your healthcare provider. They can determine whether this is a medication side effect, an allergic reaction, or something else that needs attention. Don't stop taking your medications without talking to your doctor first.
