I have a port because they can never get my veins. They draw blood from my port and I get my infusions from it also.

I have deep rolling veins.I express that to the tech before they begin. Generally, they slow down and personalize my experience

Not sure if it is a direct correlation to Lupus but I do have problems with my veins. While they are quite visible they are tiny and often blow when they try to put in an i.v. or draw blood. They are also very wacky and like to move on the nurses. They have to use hot packs and vein lights on me most times to get a good draw. I have also developed scar tissue around my veins from the amount of pokes I have endured over the years.
