Do you ladies have various muscles that twitch occasionally? Mine takes spells doing that. It is annoying.

Hi Frankie, I’ve been taking gabapentin for a few years for back spasms. I also feel that it has helped with my lupus symptoms as well. I have terrible leg cramps. I take magnesium for. They are worse at night but continue during the day as well. Wondering if anyone else experiences this and what remedies work for you? Ty in advance.

Absolutely, I was first told I had bilateral carpal tunnel, then peripheral neuropathy and now small fiber neuropathy.

Can you experience neuropathy with undifferentiated connective tissue disease?

Yes, it's possible to experience neuropathy symptoms with undifferentiated connective tissue disease (UCTD). Since UCTD can include symptoms from multiple connective tissue conditions including lupus, and peripheral neuropathy is a known complication of lupus, you may experience nerve-related symptoms.

Peripheral neuropathy occurs when nerves outside the brain and spinal cord become damaged, often due to inflammation. This can happen in lupus and related conditions.

Common symptoms include:
* Numbness in hands or feet
* Tingling or pins-and-needles sensations
* Burning or stabbing pain
* Muscle weakness
* Inability to move certain body parts

If you're experiencing these symptoms, your doctor may recommend nerve conduction studies or electromyography tests to evaluate nerve function. Treatment options can include pain relievers, vitamin B supplements, or prescription medications to help manage symptoms.

It's important to discuss any new or worsening symptoms with your rheumatologist, as they can help determine the best approach for your specific situation and whether additional testing is needed.

Yes, Frankie, I do have very annoying muscle twitches. I have twitching muscles around my eyes, upper arms and legs, mostly. I never know where or when they will occur.
