I'm sorry to see you're struggling, Sandra. Azathioprine (Imuran) and mycophenolate (Cellcept) are two other options to ask about.

What treatment options are available when you've had allergic reactions to multiple lupus medications?

It sounds incredibly frustrating to have experienced allergic reactions to so many medications, especially after the vision issues with hydroxychloroquine. Having multiple allergies can make treatment more challenging, but there are still options to explore.

Since you've had reactions to several immunosuppressants and biologics, your rheumatologist may consider:

- Other immunosuppressive medications like azathioprine or mycophenolate mofetil
- Different biologic therapies that you haven't tried yet
- Corticosteroids like prednisone for inflammation control (though typically used short-term due to side effects)
- Adjusting dosages or trying medications you reacted to under closer supervision with premedication

It's crucial to work closely with your rheumatologist to document all your allergic reactions. They can help determine if some reactions were true allergies versus side effects, which might open up more options. Some people can tolerate medications better with antihistamines or other supportive treatments.

Given your complex situation with multiple conditions, you might also benefit from a second opinion or consultation with a specialist who has experience managing patients with multiple drug sensitivities. Don't lose hope—there are still paths forward, even when the journey feels overwhelming.
