While in the military 1970 to 1974 I often used trichloroethylene to clean the equipment that I worked on. I have read some articles that have stated that there has been studies that show a connection. I also have multiple other autoimmune diseases, ITP, Sjogrens, rheumatoid arthritis, and others.

Your military exposure to trichloroethylene during the 1970s is worth discussing with your rheumatologist, especially given your multiple autoimmune conditions. Environmental toxin exposure is recognized as a potential lupus trigger, though specific chemicals vary in research.

It's important to share your complete exposure history with your healthcare team. This information helps them understand your unique situation and tailor your treatment plan accordingly.

Have you mentioned this chemical exposure to your doctor? They may be aware of more recent research connecting industrial solvents to autoimmune disease development.
