Does the blister itch? Whenever I get blisters the area typically itches first. This happens a lot when I'm exposed to sun or UV lighting. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Are low-grade fevers with blisters on the lip common with lupus?

You're not alone in experiencing these symptoms. Low-grade fevers (like your 99.1°F) are actually quite common with lupus and can signal several things:

Why you might have a low-grade fever:
* A lupus flare (research shows up to 60% of fevers in people with lupus are due to disease activity)
* An infection (lupus and its treatments weaken the immune system)
* Inflammation in your body
* Side effects from lupus medications

About the blister on your lip:

A MyLupusTeam member described similar symptoms: "In a flare-up, I get a rash on my back, legs, arms, lips, and chest. It starts to tingle until little blisters appear."

Another member shared: "Sometimes it's red knots that have a white spot on top inside of my lips... that are very painful at the time."

Blisters and mouth sores can occur during lupus flares, and the combination with fever and muscle pain suggests your body may be experiencing increased disease activity.

Important note about your muscle pain:

The thigh pain lasting 4 days combined with fever could indicate inflammation or possibly an infection. Since you have kidney involvement from lupus, it's especially important to monitor for infections.

Given your complex medical history and current symptoms, you really need medical attention even though past experiences have been frustrating. A fever over 101°F or one that persists requires immediate medical care.
