Members responded with strong solidarity to a question about a mysterious rash that appeared on someone's thigh, with many sharing that they experience similar unexplained rashes, bruising, and skin changes as part of living with lupus. Several members described symptoms including itchy rashes on arms, legs, and faces, blue discoloration on feet, and circular marks that slowly fade, with some linking flares, sun exposure, or cutaneous lupus diagnoses to their skin issues. A recurring theme was the frustration of seeking answers from dermatologists who seem unfamiliar with autoimmune skin conditions, along with shared hope that the symptoms would ease.

I get pink circles that go white in the middle as they get larger then eventually disappear. The dermatologist said there wasn't enough mucin in it to make it lupus. It was squishy and full feeling but didn't itch. They didn't know what new thing was overlapping my butterfly rash, and my butterfly rash has been weeping some. It never did that before. I assume it's dermal waste products squishing out due to the inflammation. It looks like pus. Unfortunately, the two dermatologists I've seen seem baffled??? I assume they don't get a lot of autoimmune stuff. I've had definite Tumid lesions in the past, but they say this one on my neck isn't a Tumid lesion. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have bruises on my legs all the time. My feet are completely blue now, and also traveling up my legs. It seems to be a common thing with lupus

yes, I have this funny looking circle. Almost looked like a doughnut on my left forearm. Don’t know where it came from but it’s been there about a month now. It looks like it’s slowly fading away, but it doesn’t itch and it’s not painful so I don’t bother it hopefully yours go away soon.
