Symptoms or conditions. I am so tired right now of dealing with the fear that comes along with every new situation. I’m so tired of pain and not having much of a life right now. I’m not trying to be selfish but I long so for days in my past that were basically pain free. How do you all cope? Some of you have numerous health issues and I’m so sorry. How do I get peace back in my life? I am a Christian and I am ashamed that I can’t hold on to my faith better than I do.

Frankie,
I understand where you are coming from. It took me years to grasp how anyone can live with pain 24/7. Yet, I do. There's no easy answer since we have different lifestyles and responsibilities. I try to stay focused less on my pain and more on staying busy when I am not resting. Taking breaks between my activities makes a huge difference in how I manage my pain. For example, my feet hurt right now, but we plan to go on a trail walk today. To help ease the pain, I will add some extra padding to my shoes to make my feet feel more comfortable and I will stop when I need to. That way, I can enjoy the walk with my husband. On days when my lower back or another joint hurts, I apply pain cream or a Thermacare patch. I guess what I am saying is, address the pain the best you can, but don't let it keep you from getting on with your life and consumption with worry and fear. That only brings you down. Speak words of encouragement to yourself. Such as, "You got this, Frankie." Not every day will be perfect or easy, but it can be better when you change your perspective.
On social media, there is this little boy named Bubba. I think he has spina bifida. His father is his therapist and every day he works with Bubba to learn to do things independently. This boy struggles to comply with what he is asked to do and he looks like he is in so much pain. As he accomplishes each challenge, I am inspired to not think about my pain and cheer him on in my heart. This boy learns from his father that he can encourage others and he makes remarks that help others get through their day. This little boy pushes me to keep going and he doesn't even know me. Sometimes it's the little things like the joy of watching a baby fall and get back up can help us get through our days. I hope that in some way, I am making sense to you. Hugs and prayers.💜🙏🏾
@A MyLupusTeam Member I am asking God to calm the storm in your body and your mind. He is our ultimate comforter.🙏🏾
That all makes perfect sense! I’ve got to stop feeling sorry for myself and get on with living. The enemy loves it when we want to give up. I am going for bloodwork tomorrow to check for inflammation to see what might be going on. I’m nervous to find out but I need the correct treatment. Pray for me please. Mrs V you are always so encouraging! I wish I could be one of those people! Enjoy your walk with your husband and seeing all of nature God has created.
I just had this conversation with my 12 year old who was diagnosed with Crohn’s and then a year later psoriasis. She’s has a miserable two years. I told her it’s okay to grieve and be sad and mourn but at some point she needs to decide to put that energy into being proactive about her health. I switched to a whole food Plant Based diet and basically am symptom free and in remission with lupus and researching and deciding to do that was how I decided to be proactive. I’m hoping at some point my daughter will get to a point where she wants to research and experiment and find things that benefit her, but for now it’s okay that she just needs to be sad for a bit. It’s okay if you just need to be sad for a bit. And just know that when you are ready there are lots of ways to be proactive and feel better even if you still have lupus
@A MyLupusTeam Member your words are always spot on! I to have been battling my emotions, fears and mental health because of how life has dealt me this hand of cards (Lupus). I was sitting in my room a few days ago going through photo memories and I noticed the changes in appearance and my weight. I instantly became sad. I began to cry a little bit because I needed to hear my mom's voice tell me it's okay Angel, but obviously she is not here physically. On top of looking at pictures I received a call from my rheumatologist telling me my WBC count dropped and I need to see my hematologist. I've had previous visits with my Hematologist who informed me to take 1000mcg of B12 daily and that is what I've been doing daily. But apparently it's not enough! As of now im waiting to hear from.my Hematologist for a new appt. I pray I dont have to take injections. While speaking on WBC will a flare-up cause your levels to drop? Some days I want to just throw on the towel but u know I can't I have kids that depend on me.
