I think some lupus sufferers experience depression, irritability and even anxiety more severe than others. I've had those emotions myself, the fatigue and frustration of not know how I'll feel one day to the next. Some meds just don't work on everyone but it's great for others. All I can say is talk to your health care provider and see what other treatments there are. Above all this I pray everyday and through out the day, and rest take care of yourself the best you can. Prayers for you God Bless You
I feel like it is! I didn't know I had lupus for a few years because symptoms of being tired and hair loss also overlapped with being pregnant and having young kids. Looking back I realize I probably had lupus for 6 years, including during 2 pregnancies. The mental health swings were awful. There were times when everything sounded so loud to me, like everyone was shouting at me (not the kids who probably really were shouting at me, but even just my husband talking to me was so loud). And I would feel a pressure in my head. That definitely made me irritable. When I found out I had lupus I went on a whole food plant based diet and those episodes of everything being loud and my head feeling under pressure pretty much went a way in a few months.
