I was severely sick in March with Pneumonia, then Sepsis which required surgery. This the reason my Rheumatologist asked me to have the vaccine. I am not a vaccine person either.

It sounds like you've been through an incredibly tough year — pneumonia, sepsis, surgery, and now post-vaccine pain. That's a lot for anyone, let alone someone managing lupus. Your rheumatologist was right to recommend the pneumonia vaccine given your history, even if it's been uncomfortable.

The question seems to be asking about symptoms (not symposiums!) after the pneumonia vaccine with lupus — a very valid concern. People with lupus can sometimes experience stronger reactions to vaccines because of how their immune system works. Common post-vaccine symptoms can include:

- Soreness or significant pain at the injection site
- Fatigue
- Fever or chills
- Body aches
- Temporary flare-like symptoms

For people with lupus, these reactions can feel more intense, especially if you're on immunosuppressive medications or if your body is still recovering from a serious illness like yours. Given that your pain has lasted a week, it's really important to contact your rheumatologist or care team soon. Prolonged pain after a vaccine isn't typical and deserves proper attention, especially with your recent medical history.

Other MyLupusTeam members have shared similar experiences of heightened reactions to vaccines, so you're definitely not alone in this.
