Yes agreed, no two-fers. I did that with a pneumonia shot and holy hell I had a 3 dimensional rash down my arm, which then caused me to get a prednisone shot and a prednisone taper. Was a real PITA. Have no idea if the flu shot still worked but yep just one from now on. The things we learn sweet Jesus.

What a great question — has anyone else experienced body aches after getting a flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine at the same time?
The short answer is: yes, this is very common! Feeling achy after vaccines is actually a sign that your immune system is doing its job. For people with lupus, this response can sometimes feel more intense. A MyLupusTeam member shared that arm pain after a shot can radiate and feel quite intense, sometimes lasting a few hours to a few days.
Here are a few things that may help ease the discomfort:
- Rest as much as possible while your body responds
- Stay hydrated to help your body recover
- Apply a cool or warm compress to sore areas
- Talk to your doctor if symptoms feel severe or last more than a few days, especially since lupus can make it harder to tell what's a vaccine reaction vs. a flare
The good news is that staying up to date on vaccines is strongly recommended for people with lupus, so you did the right thing! 💪
