I just got my 3rd dose of the Moderna vaccine and had a very strong reaction including what’s known as Covid Arm. 2 days after the shot my arm got itchy. Then i developed a very large, very red raised “hive” near the injection site. It started off as itchy but became painful. It grew to be about 6 inches long and a few itches across. Eventually the entire area got quite swollen and puffy

Only about .2% of people got this side effect in the trials and I cannot find much info about it. It seems to… read more

Hi. I had the exact same thing happen to me with the first shot. Second shot caused a slightly sore arm for a couple days. The first shot caused a very large, itchy and sore rash about 3 days after the shot. The rash lasted about 3/4 days and cold compresses helped a lot. My dr. said this is caused by an over-reaction of the immune system and is harmless if there is no trouble breathing or swelling of the lips or face. Hope you feel better soon.

I meant to include a photo with my post. Better late than never

It looks like the rash formed where the vaccine migrated to after being injected since it goes down the arm

It’s starting to clear up now but boy did it look weird! And was really really warm to the touch

Seems it’s more likely to happen after the 1st injection so I find it interesting this didn’t happen til I got my 3rd

I’ve been very prone to inflammation lately and have been having a hard time with stress and depression after managing the illness of my cat the last 3 months. He succumbed to it just yesterday and I’m sick with grief. I got the booster just when things were at there worst here. The timing was awful. I wouldn’t be surprised if my immune system was overreacting because of the stress and upset and made me more prone to reactions like this

I haven't got the 3rd Moderna shot. This month I got my flu shot. No problems except for a bit sore where shot was given. No bad reactions. Prayers all gets better

I didn't have any reaction to any of my 3 Moderna shots and as far as I know I didn't develop any antibodies either. I hope the reaction goes away and that it means you are protected. Hugs <3
