The past few months my skin has darkened for no apparent reason. I heard that plaquenil can cause skin discoloration. Is this true?

Yes, it happened to me, but I wasn't sure if it was lupus or Plaquenil. I had dark discoloration inside my ear canals. Eventually, they disappeared.

Yes, HCQ can cause this.

this is the first I’m hearing of it, but I do know people whose skin has darkened. Not sure where it came from. Exactly but maybe you should ask your rheumatologist. stay well 💜
