I know of no one else with it.
As far as what pmr is. Look up polymyalgia rheumatica. This gives you a run down of it. The goal is to get it into remission. One cousin of mine has never fully reached remission. She is on 3 mg a day of prednisone now. She may actually have lupus but never diagnosed. My other cousin went into remission but relapsed 10 years later when husband and mother passed. That’s been 5 years and she still has to take a small amount of prednisone. She is probably 74 years old or so. Hers has always been well controlled but can’t get completely off prednisone without having some symptoms come back. I’m praying mine will go away and stay away. There is a biologic drug for it now too for those that cannot go into remission I think.
My symptoms typically align with PMR (Poly-myalgia Rheumatica). My hips and shoulders perpetually hurt. Only Prednisone helps. My mother has a formal diagnosis of of PMR & Sclerosis patches on her skin, my father had Dermatomyositis, and my brother had juvenile Dermatomyocitus (DM). My grandmother had SLE and my grandfather had severe RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis). And, this last year came the DM heliotrope rash, spurred by RSV. So, I seem to be displaying a lot of overlapping symptoms. My Myomarker Panel 3 noted Sjogrens/Lupus, Sclerosis, and Myocitis, so I'm definitely a product of my family cesspool.
