Dealing with breakouts on your face and body when prescribed ointments aren't cutting it is really frustrating. There are some options worth exploring, but always check with your doctor before trying anything new.

For your face, some things that have helped others:

- Ice wrapped in a cloth applied to the affected area
- Over-the-counter Prosacea ointment (applied twice daily)
- Witch hazel or tea tree oil-based products
- Hydrocortisone cream

For body breakouts (arms, back, calves):

- A cotton ball with rubbing alcohol followed by prescription triamcinolone cream
- Ice bags directly on the skin to ease burning and itching
- Aloe vera gel, followed by shea butter cream, then a few drops of emu oil
- Over-the-counter antihistamines like cetirizine (Zyrtec) taken daily can help with itching If things aren't improving, it's worth going back to your doctor. There are stronger options available, like clobetasol propionate cream, oral steroids during bad flares, or even monthly omalizumab injections. A MyLupusTeam member shared that omalizumab "helps like a miracle" after years of suffering.

Don't settle — there are more options out there!

Me too , Vaseline. I have a BUNCH of $50 tubes of stuff that didn't work.
Vicks vaporub works inside my nose. Just a tiny smear helps my nose alot!

I would go back to them and tell them it don't help. I just use plain water and I can't do ice as that activates Reynards. Hydrocortisone cream helps on my face but I use the non alcohol one. Oatmeal based products really work well. I am praying for you. God bless.
