Lupus and Eye Pain: 7 Reasons Your Eye Feels Poked Read Article...
A MyLupusTeam Member

I would go see an ophthalmologist. Lupus & steroids can cause severe dry eye that leads to corneal damage. Constant watery eyes is a symptom of dry eyes (I know it sounds weird & backwards) but it’s true. I finally got sick of my eyes constantly tearing and went to the doctor. Sure do have severe dry eyes and already had abrasions on my corneas. Had IPL laser treatments, tear duct collagen plugs, and amniotic membrane lens treatments and my eyes finally feel normal again. I also had swelling under one of my eyes in addition to the tears. Now I go back every 6 months for a check up and get the amniotic corneal bandage/lense treatment about once a year to keep them healthy.
