Yes, I have also had COVID and had similar symptoms. If you are not taking Paxlovid and are over 65 or on immunosuppressants (any med other than HCQ), please talk to your doctor about Paxlovid. We are at higher risk of getting very sick from COVID than a healthy person.

I hope you feel better soon. If you suspect you might be starting to flare, please see your rheumatologist, too.

I had covid twice and I found that adding cedar boughs into a pot of boiling water and allowing the steam to fill your house cleanses the air and also breathing in the steam directly provides some relief to the lung pain.

So sorry you're going through this — COVID + lupus is a rough combination, and you're definitely not alone in feeling this way.

Yes, many MyLupusTeam members have experienced exactly this. COVID-19 can trigger widespread inflammation throughout the body, which for people with lupus can hit harder than usual. This can cause:

- Intense headaches or throbbing head pain
- Joint pain flaring up across multiple areas
- Increased fatigue and dizziness
- Worsening of existing lupus symptoms People with lupus — especially those on immune-suppressing medications like prednisone, methotrexate, or mycophenolate — are at higher risk for more serious COVID symptoms because these medications can reduce the body's ability to fight infection.

It's really important to contact your doctor right away. They need to know your symptoms are worsening, especially the joint pain and headaches, so they can adjust your care plan if needed.

Don't tough this one out alone — reach out to your medical team today. 💙
