My son (13 yrs old) was diagnose with lupus in 2018. It has been very stressful for our family to learn how to adjust our life style. One of the problems that we are facing is finding copay assistance for his benlysta medication. He has a monthly infusion appointment that the benlysta medication is distributed through an IV. Been on benylsta infusions for about four months and everytime i get my benlysta the day of or the day after, my eyes start to become really red and inflammed and hurt and also my body starts to ache and joints hurt? I have to call my dr days later to tell her about this and she has given me a steriod shot which helps me right away?
I just had my 6th infusion an every symptom I have ever had has come back an is steadily getting worse. I had some thing last clear up over time with imuran but after my last infusion on the first I'm back to the point I'm in so much pain an swollen I can't walk or open a bottle. Maybe try a different medication? I couldn’t take Plaquinel. Destroyed my stomach but I’m on Leflunomide which is a stronger drug and no tummy problems. My dr said if symptoms last more than 2 weeks… read more
I'm currently taking Plaquenil 200mg and Methotrexate 20mg. Has anyone had any improvements with Benlysta?Also, how do you cope with the fatigue? I feel like I'm walking through quicksand and getting no where. I feel a little better if I take nap during the day. The only problem is I work 5 days a week. So napping is a no no. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
