I forgot to add that all medical grade CBD comes packaged with a medical label and a medical certificate of analysis from the laboratory that tested it, so the person buying it knows exactly what they are getting. These labs are in CA & CO - states that have legal access to medical grade cannabis. Hemp produces stalks and seeds for numerous purposes and nutritional supplements. Hemp is often mistaken for its cannabis cousin, marijuana, even though smoking an entire garbage bag of hemp would not produce an altered state of consciousness, as hemp contains low levels of THC. Confusion between hemp oil and marijuana oil has spiked recently, as states have passed medical marijuana laws that allow for the use of strains of marijuana that are low in THC and high in CBD. Consumers often confuse hemp oil with CBD oil because both are low in THC and contain CBD. CBD is not a product or component of hemp seeds, and labeling to that effect is misleading and motivated by the desire to take advantage of the legal gray area of CBD under federal law. Do NOT be fooled by imitations.

CBD is still illegal! Even though CBD shows much promise as a medicine, it remains illegal in many parts of the world. CBD is classified as a Schedule I drug in the United States and a Schedule II drug in Canada.

Thank you for the info @A MyLupusTeam Member. With my daughters medical condition I have been researching CBD oil for over a year. The info you have shared is very interesting and confusing to me. I have made numerous attempts at acquiring CBD for my child and am told it is illegal to ship it across state lines. Hemp oil, derived from hemp seeds can legally be purchased at any local health food store. However, Cannabidiol is not so easily accessible in states where marijuana/hemp is illegal. I have come across many places claiming to have CBD oil, when in fact it has not been laboratory tested to confirm the CBD/THC ratio which verifies the medical quality of the product being purchased. I do not think what is being sold on this link is medical grade CBD - there are a lot of scammers out there. I personally know of many reliable sources to acquire medical grade CBD, but again it is illegal to ship across state lines - it is a federal offense. So, it makes me wonder how these "businesses" are willing to knowingly commit a federal crime, and are able to stay in business. Medical grade/quality CBD is not simply a dietary supplement. What they are selling is oil pressed from hemp seeds - that makes it a dietary supplement and legal to purchase. It has no medicinal properties.
