Absolutely ! Ent told me I had bppv and said it was from lupus. She gave me head turning exercises that helped a lot.
I have had episodes of vertigo, and swirly eye lights and sometimes double vision. Lupus = inflammation...and it is not too picky! Rest is medicine, and also finding the right combo of meds that work for you. 600mg Motrin can sometimes punch that dizziness away...I also replaced cows milk with almond milk....reduced alot of flares! good luck kiddo!!!
I started getting 'dizzy spells' or vertigo really bad, out of the blue about 15 years ago...my dr. at the time tested me for everything, and couldn't find anything, so we gave up, thought it was stress, or 'in my head' so to speak...then after a couple years, I had my first grand mal seizure, then I got all kinds of MRI's and EETs and tests done, and here I was getting seizures all along! The dizzy spells and vertigo and feelings of an 'aura' were actually petite mals, or small seizures..I did not realize that lupus could cause dizzy spells as well! Great! I do know that all the meds I am on, a lot of them say they 'may cause dizziness...may cause tiredness...may cause weight gain...blah blah blah...well I get all that! But I am happy that I do not get the more severe reactions, like internal bleeding, etc...but I do still get daily dizzy spells, I am tired daily, and it's depressing...but I am happy to say that all my seizure meds are keeping the Grand Mals away! And the 'rat poison' or Warfrin is keeping the strokes away! So that is good! Imagine that, before 15 years ago, I was healthy, nothing was wrong with me! Now it seems one thing after another keeps going wrong...and then I find out I have lupus, and epilepsy and this blood disorder for life! Its tough raising kids basically alone and working, etc...well I am sure a lot of u r going thru this...
I started having vertigo episodes about a year ago. They didn't say anything about it being linked to Lupus. I had a couple though in Sept and Oct when I was flared from Lupus.
Interesting, one of my first symptoms when I was dxd way back when w/ CFS was BPV. But it has come back in the last few months and won't seem to leave. Usually it took bigger issues to bring it on, going in circles in a car, around hills etc. watching action movies, now just regular ole TV old school will bring it on, nothing moving fast of crazy just watching people simply walk around on the set of movie or show. I have done the exercises, but I am not dizzy doing them, so this is different. I take 1/2 a meclizine now and then, I probably should take more it might get rid of what do you guys think. Also is this different and from the plaq?
