Yes, I was initially diagnosed with Cutaneaous Lupus through 2 skin biopsies. My ANA was negative at first, but that changed within 3 years. That's when the joint pain and swelling set in. Good luck. Peace, katcove

Yes thats exactly what happened to me few lesions on chest. &. Back biopsy suspecious of lupus so went on plapnuil then sun became the enemy then 10 yrs later lots of inflammation maybe.or is positive for sjogrens so like any disease it's progressive just take good care along the way so it doesn't escalate they say once U HV 1 auto immune it can go all over board RA etc etc good luck

I have very bad joint pain at the moment as well as rash , I went to the dr last Thursday as I was finding it hard to walk and I had bloods taken Friday. The dr rang this evening saying my ana was high I have to go back to my dermo but I have to go see a rheumatologist now too. Not sure what to expect at rheumatologist this is my first time to go

That was exactly my initial diagnosis. Three years later I developed joint pain and came back with a positive ANA only last April. So far my lupus is mildish. My dermatologist is the one who put me on Plaquenil. It took about 2 years and my skin lesions decided to take a siesta. From my readings I have learned that not everybody who is diagnosed with cutaneous lupus will go on to develop SLE.

When rash started went to Derm. Then he did biopsy came back suspicious of lupus and positive Ana but said see md at that time 20 yrs ago not much going on with lupus/doctors etc so md just checked basic blood work and as long as most where within normal range she assumed with positive Ana that it was discoid lupus so she just kept prescribing the plaqnuil and life went on about 3?yrs ago finally went to rheumy and that blood work came back numbers off charts for sjogrens so can be difficult it’s like was it lupus ever there?? was it always Sjogrens or is lupus there in remission and sjogrens overlapped

. But all and all that’s a good thing ur Ana isn’t positive really good I don’t know what ur rash is did u go to dermatologist ?? Hope u find answer but great on ANA see Derm hugs 👍👍🦋🌈🌈
