Could colds and sinus infections cause flare ups?

Yes, unfortunately a cold or sore throat or any type virus or even an infection can cause flares. Stress can cause flares and being overly tired can too. Hand washing is very important especially after being out in public, shopping or hanging with friends. Try to avoid touching your face or nose or mouth if you're out and wash hands thoroughly when you get home. Try to remember to use those cart wipes you see at the entrance to grocery stores and wipe down the cart before you touch it. A little extra precaution goes a long way in avoidance of all the crud going around.

good question... I've been learning while these flare ups I have are nothing like I had when I first found out I had Lupus, what I face now are just symptoms of the Lupus itself. The tired feeling all the time, I just thought I forgot to take my vitamins & didn't get enough rest, it is a normal occurrence.. I have to take things slow, pace myself or I pay for it the next day... I have learned that..

Yes, my daughter flares when she's coming down with something. Warm water, honey, ground ginger, turmeric and cinnamon. Stir well, strain an enjoy drink. She calls it the magic potion :)

Yes, anything that gets your immune system in an uproar is going to make it worse. Sorry. :( Hope you feel better

Just realizing the tired feeling I always have or the acheyness is part of the Lupus. . The colds/ infections make me feel bad cuz I am fighting the infection
