I ended up going to the ER last night due to the pain, they did bloodwork , EKG, and chest X-ray. Said everything looked ok, except for me WBC is 23.9. So they gave me morphine and sent me home

NancyC I was the opposite same symptoms but had to be taken off of Imuran and now I'm on Plaquenil. Odd isn't it.

I was hospitalized twice for chest pain. They concluded it was a slight inflammation around my heart and that plaquinel was contributing to the chest pain. I am no longer taking that med. With other issues that have come up, I'm now on Imuran.

When I had the pericarditis I had to sleep propped up in bed and on the couch. I was off work for 2 weeks.

I thought that I was having a heart attack! It is so painful and I haven't found anything that relieves it except for not lying flat on my back

I was hospitalized last summer with the same problems for over a week. The pain in my chest felt as though someone was stabbing me and the pain went through to my back. I had an IV antibiotic and pain killers. During the stay I was also given Lasix because I filled up with fluids. Call a pneumonologist. I was diagnosed with Lupus pneumonitis and pleurisy.
