I'm thinking of having an elective procedure, and my family thinks I'm nuts with all of my health issues.

My sister has the saline and she always had problems, multiple surgeries. Everyone I know that has saline has hard, round, fake looking breasts. It made me question my doctor more. He gave me a not of information on both and in the end I asked him "what would you use for your wife if you did her surgery?" He said without a doubt he'd use silicone. That and feeling both samples confirmed my decision. My picts are on his website as examples of his work. I don't think I've heard any complaints about the new silicone, either. I want to add, I'm sure there are some natural looking saline implants out there. I just haven't seen them. A lot of the final look is determined by the volume the doctor uses. Don't let him over fill you. You have the final say in your size.

Wasn't trying to directly comment on your response. Just sharing my experience. It's always such a personal decision and everyone recovers differently. I had an awesome support system that helped my recovery to be easier and speedier than others.

@A MyLupusTeam Member, just to respond to the comment about fatigue...........in no way did I imply for ANYONE NOT to have elective or for that matter ANY TYPE of surgery. What I did say was that FOR ME, fatigue was an issue. If you re read my comment, all I said was, it's something to be considered. Everyone is different.......lupus affects everyone differently. So happy for you that elective surgery was a breeze!
