I get tingling and numbness in both hands and both feet. I was told I have carpal tunnel in both hands. I had surgery for carpal tunnel in 2011, but was told it came back in both hands and now wear braces on both hands. I need to know is the numbness and tingling due to a flare up? I believe it is because my feet do the same thing and sometimes I can't walk due to the numbness.

Reynaud's can be a symptom of lupus and is absolutely a flare up. Lupus affects my nervous system and circulatory system. Reynaud's is a combo of the two (vasculitus and small fiber neuropathy). This was one of my first symptoms of lupus.

I also had a discectomy and spinal fusion in my neck. I woke up on morning and could not feel or use my left arm. I thought I had slept on it wrong. It was a pinched nerve.

I also deal with this & also with my brain. My hands and feet are from Raynaud's disease & my Brian is from occipital neuralgia. I took medication for my brain but not head. If your fingers & toes turn white & purple then you could have Raynaud's which can be from Lupus.

I have numbness in both hands and feet and it is from what they call peripheral neuropathy. This is caused by inflammation which damages tiny nerves and blood vessels. I started with hand numbness due to fluid in my wrists. It was not carpal tunnel. They tested some of the fluid and it was inflammatory in nature. Every day is different, but it never goes away. I have learned to live with it since it is not life threatening and other symptoms are much more troublesome for me.

No this is not a flare up. I get the same feeling in my toes and fingers all the time. It happens to me when either I am cold (usually my feet and hands) or when I haven't moved around in awhile. If these two options are not the cause to your numbness I suggest you speak to your doctor about it
