Hey guys, I'm having some chest pains. It feels like the area above my chest aches like a muscle that I overworked. It hurts when I laugh or breathe too hard or reach for something. It's been going on for a week or so. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I haves had that often. I thought it was pleurisy but my chest X-ray would be clear. It ended up being pericarditis.

I had costochondritis a few months ago. Felt like I was having a heart attack. Dr. gave me Zorvolex and i was better within a day or two.

Lupus attacks connective tissue and this is found in the heart (aorta) along with the rib cage along with cartilage. Ask cardiologist to do echocardiogram and chest X-ray. You may need some type of cardiac meds. Also for me too much prednisone made my chest area sore to touch and hurt me with deep breaths. Hope this helps!

I have had this several times when in a flare. I get the prednisone and it goes away. Had chest x-ray and no problem. It must be inflammation in there. It is pericarditis.

I am having hard times with chest pains. The one which bothers me the most comes in the morning on and off every 15 min. when I am in bed from 5:am till I get up. They become more often...saw cardiologist numerous times, after many tests he says no problem with my heart, GI is good (I take tecta anyways). Anyone has this problem? I was told before that it could be costiochondritis .... but I am afraid I am developing pericarditis also. Though cardiologist tests didn't confirm anything. Really frustrating.
