I have one child. The first trimester was the hardest as I had severe migraines & aseptic meningitis, spent most of it flat on my back. I spotted during the pregnancy around the times my period would have fallen. But he was not harmed by any of those issues & was worth it!
My biggest problem came after he came: severe fatigue, migraines, sinus infections, caught every “bug” going around, always caught any virus my son had, painful muscles, lost all my hair, dental issues. It was 2 years before I felt well enough to return to my teaching job. Luckily, I was in the position not to go back. If I had been forced to go back in 6-weeks like I originally planned, it would have been a problem.
But once again, it was worth it.

I find it’s harder, I had 3 miscarriages before I had my son, only after mutiple loss they realize I had to go on a medication for most of my pregnancy to keep me from miscarrying. Sucks having lupus and being higher risk for pregnancy, my son came prematurely but I call him my miracle baby. After having him I had another miscarriage at 3 months. I was just happy to have one. But it can come with struggle but it did work out

Yes. It's important to work with your doctor but some women actually notice their Lupus symptoms go away during pregnancy.

Hello JordanHartig2. Absolutely you can get pregnant. Unfortunately, I had my first flare while I was pregnant. The doctors didn't know what was going on with my body...I was itching from the inside. Then finally I broke out with visible hives all over my body. Then I shedded all of my skin off my body. I lost lots of weight. I was around 86 pounds when I had my baby boy. They were administering all kinds of medication trying everything. I was hallucinating while in the hospital; so much so that they put me in a straight jacket to confine my movements in and around the hospital. In rectrospect once I was diagnosed, about four years later, they then said it was all caused from lupus..whew that was a rough one. Before you think of getting pregnant, I highly recommend that you speak to your doctor first. God bless
