Sometimes I get this feeling that my face and scalp is being stuck with needles. Like it hurts to wash my face. Anyone else? Ideas why?

I get this as well. It feels much like having fiberglass particles stuck on your skin. I have asked my doctor about it and was told that is from inflammation of the tiny little capillaries (blood vessels) on your face. When it happens, I lay cool, soft cloths on my skin, very careful not to scrub or rub at my skin at all. Put nothing acidic or abrasive on your facial skin, please. I have had good results using straight aloe gel and, believe it or not, honey on my face, to soothe it. As for the scalp, shampoo as little as possible with a gentle shampoo, being sure not to scrub at the scalp. I hope this helps a little bit, at least! <3

I have discoid when I first noticed something was wrong my face was burning my eyes watered and it was awful my neck was itching ahh, be careful of the stuff you put on your face I was putting a certain kind of sunblock on and my eyes would start to water and face stinging I thought it was the lupus but it was the sunblock. I wash gently with cerave. Soap and at night I rub lotion on my face and wipe it with a gentle cleansing cloth to take off my makeup. Be gentle with all your skin. The scalp well I don't know what to say to that but it's a sensitive area too, don't change what works for you. Hopefully you are on plaq. But I would mention it to my doc and let him look at your scalp or go see a dermatologist. And take a look at your scalp to see if you have any bald spots or anything you may need some scalp solution. It's lupus what is lupus it's inflammation and your body attacking it. Watch that sun too. You know sun is our enemy right.

I will get that some times, I think it is from the fibro. Having a shower can be unbearable at times.
