What medicines were you given for autoimmune hepatitis?
Thank you so much for your answer. I still am not sure what is going on. I had a high AMA test and some other liver tests abnormal.
I was put on prednisone (starting from 60 mg tapering down to 10 mg) - and on azapress 10 mg (an immune suppressant (the same as azathioprine?) in order to treat my autoimmune hepatitis. It has worked very well - my liver function tests have been normal for quite a while. I am however due for a new test in a week's time, and will have to see what's giving. I stayed on the prednisone for 15 months but was then allowed to go off it. Fortunately, I have lost all the weight I gained as a result of the prednisone. I remain on the azapress, taking a pill a day. The medication also treated my lupus symptoms.
I did not have autoimmune hepatitis but I do know that they usually give azathioprine and Imuran. I was on both of those for quite some time but not for hepatitis. I have not had hepatitis. My Imuran was replaced with Cell Cept which I have been on for several years. Also known as Mycophenolate.
I really do no. I no lupus can cause anything and this is new to me
I have not had a diagnosis yet. I have had some abnormal liver tests. The latest one is a high AMA test which shows antibodies in the Mitochondria?? I started reading about this test and so I do not know yet if I have autoimmune hepatitis.
