The ophthalmologist said I don't have Sjogrens but I still get dry, itchy eyes. I too use a lubricating *gel*, 'Systane'. The gel works better than the drops. In the spring and summer my eyes get very irritated from allergies and the ophthalmologist prescribed an OTC drop called 'Zaditor'. It doesn't take away all the red but it relieves the itching right away and is also very soothing.

I have had problems with my eyes for a long time and the only thing that helps me is using a lubricating drops daily. I use GenTeal because it offers moderate to severe and that is the one that I use, but there are several out there you just have to find one that works for you.

you may want to look up sjogren's disease it sometimes goes hand in hand with Lupus.

Yes, yes and yes. On uti meds currently! Also had a hysterectomy and kept ovaries. Same issues with eyes yet tested negative this year for Sjogrens. I can hardly wear my contacts these days.
