I'm not sure in what state you are in but my Rhuemy told me when I was ready we would file. I called social security office and did my application over the phone and then told my Rhuemy and he wrote a letter for me and gave me all my medical records. I keep copies of all my records and I took those in and spoke to case worker and was approved wright away. It does state you have to be diagnosed for 2 years before applying. Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless

It is very hard. I applied once and was denied. Hired an attorney and he applied and was denied. Next step is to file an appeal and stand before a judge to explain how my life is affected by all of this. It takes 18 months in the state of Ga before you get an answer. Keep a journal of all your dr appointments, pains and how all of this affects your life, medication and get copies of your reports at your dr after you leave from an appointment.

It depends on your condition and your doctors diagnosis at the time of your applying for it. My doctor told me his prognosis and backed me up at the time applied for it. It is a long process and am told it is harder to get than when I got it. the first time you apply you have to apply on your own and usually always deny you the first time. After I got my denial letter I went to a lawyer immediately and had him handle it because told it is very had to get it with out a lawyer. AFTER I got him had got acceptance oly took a few months after he took over. hope this helps some. sincerely Deb.
