I read where low vitamin D levels can be associated with Lupus. Mine was low when the positive ANA titer showed up. I then read that low vitamin B12 can also be associated with lupus. Anyone have both deficiencies? Is it a common thing with lupus? I have an appointment in a few weeks and may run this by my rheumy, but don't want to look like I'm fishing for problems. My dad who does not have lupus found out his is low and had to start on injections.
yup mine are low. the low vitamin D is from my lack of sun exposure. not sure where my low b12 comes into effect but its there too
Yes, both for me too! The B12 got VERY low and caused a lot of problems before it was finally diagnosed. Pain, lack of control over muscles, memory loss, etc... Very bad stuff!!! My neurologist told me he has a patient in her 20's who ended up in a wheelchair with irreversible damage due SOLELY to undiagnosed B12 deficiency. I always encourage anyone with similar symptoms, especially anyone with an autoimmune condition, to keep a close check on their B12.
Yep, I have both too. I get B12 injections and am on vitamin D, among others. I haven't noticed a difference either. I actually have less energy now than I have in quite a while.
Yes I have both I get a vitamin b12 jag every month
yes take supplements for it.
